Romana Pozniak (Dubrovnik, 1989) graduated in Ethnology and Anthropology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, with the thesis Constructions of Bodies of Asylum Seekers: Biopolitical Condition of a Refugee Other. At the same faculty, she enrolled in doctoral studies in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in 2017. In 2017, she enrolled in the international doctoral school Transformations in European Societies (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen). She is currently working on her Ph.D. thesis focused on the conceptualization of humanitarian work in non-profit organizations. Her research interests are political anthropology, anthropology of work and the field of humanitarianism and refugee studies. She was a volunteer of the Center for Peace Studies (2013 \u2013 2015) where she did research as part of the project Quality Steps for the Integration of Refugees, oriented towards economical emancipation and social inclusion. In line with that orientation, she, in collaboration with other colleagues, founded the social cooperative Taste of home \/ Okus doma. She participated in numerous professional and research conferences, and gave several public lectures on so-called irregularized migrations and the securitarian-humanitarian politics of asylum. She was a coordinator of the vulnerable groups protection program in the Winter Reception Transit Center in Slavonski Brod (2015 \u2013 2016) and project associate at the International Organization for Migration (2016 \u2013 2018). Since 2018, she has been employed as a doctoral researcher at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research on the project Transformation of Work in Post-transition Croatia (TRANSWORK, 2017-2021) funded by the Croatian Science Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
